Why should you invest in marine detailing?
Investing in professional marine and RV detailing is a smart way to protect and preserve the exterior of your boat, camper, or RV. Exposure to harsh elements like sun, salt, rain, and road grime can quickly wear down the surface, causing oxidation, fading, and long-term damage to the gel coat or paint. Regular exterior detailing removes these contaminants, applies protective wax or sealants, and helps prevent costly repairs or premature aging. Not only does this maintain the vehicle’s appearance, but it also helps retain its value over time. For anyone looking to extend the life of their investment and keep it looking its best

Gel-coat correction
What is Gel-coating
Gelcoating is a thick, resin-based protective finish applied to fiberglass surfaces commonly found on boats, RVs, and campers. It provides a glossy, colored outer layer that’s built into the surface, not just applied over it. Gelcoat acts as both a finish and a protective barrier, shielding fiberglass from UV rays, moisture, and general wear.
Unlike a clear coat, which is a thin, transparent layer sprayed over painted surfaces typically around 2-3 mils thick (mainly in automotive applications), gelcoat is typically pigmented and much thicker typically 20-30 mils thick often requiring more aggressive polishing procedures, designed to be part of the fiberglass structure itself.

Common defects that affect gelcoating

Oxidation
Oxidation on gel-coating us caused by prolonged exposure to the sun's UV rays, oxygen & salt as well as enviromental contaminants overtime can damage the outter layer of gelcoat leaving a dull and chalky finish

Scratches
Scratches in gel-coating are often causded by abrasive contact with rough or sharp surfaces such as rock's, dock's, tree's, debris and improper washing techniques
