Common defects that affect clear coating
Swirls
Often most visible under direct sunlight or bright lighting. Swirl marks are circular scratches usually caused by improper washing or drying techniques, ike using dirty sponges, rough towels, or automatic car washes with abrasive brushes.
Oxidation
Oxidized clear coat is caused by prolonged exposure to the sun's UV rays, oxygen & salt as well as environmental contaminants overtime can damage the outer layer of gelcoat leaving a dull and chalky finish
Scratches
